Are you going to the Real Caribbean ?
Our last venture to the Caribbean took Maria and I to Sandy Lane in Barbados,a short flight (45 mins) to Union Island in the fantastic Grenadines and then a boat trip to our first destination, the private island escape known as Petit St Vincent.
We had arrived in paradise,a paradise island with only 22 rooms, lovely private room fronting your own private beach area, hammocks, relaxing chairs and lovely warm breeze to cool you down.Heaven!
5 star resort but understated, relaxed service in idyllic surroundings the views are spectacular.Just for good measure Lobster is standard on the menu in season. You must go.
We said our goodbye’s and went via boat to our next destination Canouan Island! home of the new Hotel Pink Sands and sister Hotel to Sandy Lane in Barbados,This 5 star property lies on the best beach on this idyllic island,a little more commercial with an outstanding Golf Course which you share with large tortoises.
On again by private plane (7 minutes and not expensive) to Mustique and the Cotton House Hotel. Mustique is exclusive and very laid back, some of the wealthiest people have homes on Mustique, its very cool and relaxed and Cotton House is the jewell .A lovely Hotel, well managed and not as expensive to go as you may think. We paid a couple of visits to the only bar on the Island, the famous Basils Bar and the infamous Hurricane David cocktail.
Alas our time was up,we said our sad farewells and flew back to Barbados for the flight home. You must do it,its a fantastic experience and one we will do again.
